    Job Summary

    This position maintains, operates, and service water cooled chillers.

    The incumbent also services refrigeration equipment for A/C units, water coolers, ice makers, etc., and installs split system A/C units for control rooms and offices.

    This position also maintains campus water treatment for open and closed loop systems on cooling towers. The incumbent operates computerized energy management systems and analyzes displayed information.

    The incumbent then adjusts or modifies various operating parameters in the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system according to computer information.

    Primary Responsibilities


    • Maintain & Operate Water Cooled Chillers on Campus
    • Maintain Split System A/C Units, Control Room A/C Units, Rooftop A/C Units
    • Programs and operates computerized building automation systems which controls and monitors building temperatures, fans, motors, and pumps.
    • Performs interfacing of automation system with ventilating and heating equipment such as control valves, sensors, thermostats, gauges, motors, and control instrumentation in all buildings on campus
    • Able to work with Contractors
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Education


    • HVAC/Electrical Journeyman License Preferred or education in electronics or software degree's.
    Work Experience


    • The position requires four year's experience in operating and maintaining automated heating and ventilating systems. This includes experience in repairing state-of-the-art electronic controls and experience which demonstrates the ability to program control sequences.
    • Directly related technical schooling may be substituted at the rate of one year of schooling equals one year experience.

    Approximate starting hourly rate:
    $ $27.00. The wage offered could be above or below range based on education and experience as it relates to the job description.

    Physical Demands

    Subject to outdoor weather, gasoline-powered engines, fumes, caustic chemicals, airborne particles with exposure to high, precarious workplaces. Required to stand, have finger dexterity, stoop, kneel, and move or lift up to 50 pounds.
