    Description

    SUMMARY

    Our client, a global distribution company, is seeking a qualified a Safety Coordinator. This direct hire opportunity offers the opportunity to work with a highly successful and growing team We seek a qualified safety coordinator with a high knowledge of safety procedures and warehousing techniques.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc., as they apply to the safety program.
    • Be a trusted safety partner of both managers, supervisors, and floor-level employees.
    • Provide training to new hires and enable effective operation of the established safety systems.
    • Initiate, document, and monitor corrective actions to adhere to safety programs.
    • Gather information and generate required and/or requested reports.
    • Work with employees to resolve safety issues and improve working techniques.
    • Build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.
    • Solve a range of straightforward problems; analyze possible solutions using standard procedures.
    • Identify and implement areas for improvement on a project-to-project basis.
    • Maintain effective working relationships with employees throughout the warehouse(s)
    • Ability to train others effectively on various safety and operational topics.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • University degree and/or vocational safety accreditation required.
    • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
    • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)
    • Experience in the operation of and training others in use of Powered Industrial Vehicles such as order pickers, reach trucks, sit/stand up forklifts, swing reach.
    • Familiarity with quality management methodology and its application in warehouse management.
