Mission Support and Test Services LLC manages the Nevada National Security Site for the US National Nuclear Security Administration Our mission is to help ensure national security by providing high hazard experimentation capabilities through operations engineering education field integration services We seek an Electro Optics Technician II to fabricate electrical cable assemblies in a fabrication shop environment at North Las Vegas or Nevada National Security Site Responsibilities include preparing fabricating basic specialty electrical fiber optic cables assemblies ensuring products meet technical specifications quality standards collaborating with team members on project planning coordinating interfacing with internal customers on project requirements operating fabrication equipment tools assisting in preparation of specifications accuracy completeness format suitability following checklists for specific equipment related tasks such as calibration testing operation of equipment tools needed for position Associate degree High School diploma plus two years progressive related experience required Experience working independently within established framework interpreting technical drawings safety protocols preferred Ability to execute work disciplined manner demonstrate compliance laws codes orders MSTS policies procedures Work schedule four tens Monday Thursday subject change Frequent travel NNSS forward areas approximately thirty miles beyond Mercury gate Pre placement physical examination drug screen background review personal references credit law enforcement records employment education verifications Federal background investigation DOE directive clearance access classified information matter duties require DOE security clearance Substance abuse illegal drug use falsification information criminal activity serious misconduct indicators untrustworthiness cause clearance denied terminated resulting inability perform duties subsequent termination employment In addition Applicants employment must obtain maintain DOE Q level security clearance U S citizenship least eighteen years age Reference DOE Order Personnel Security If hold more than one citizenship i e of US another country ability obtain security clearance may impacted Hourly range this position $38 84 Starting salary determined based market value individual candidate education experience internal equity
