    We are looking to hire a Station Manager in Norfolk. The station manager is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the exciting day-to-day airport operations, or a segment of the operation. The station manager must have a passion for ensuring the safe, reliable, efficient, and effective operational and financial performance of the station.

    Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

    • Builds partnerships with customers and sets the example for the delivery of exceptional customer service.
    • Reviews operational and financial reports to ensure the station is meeting goals and objectives and takes corrective action as required.
    • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, rules, standards, customer requirements, and governmental/regulatory requirements.
    • Participates in employee relations investigations when complaints arise and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
    • Promotes and adheres to policies concerning Safety, Anti-Harassment, and Equal Employment Opportunity.
    • Recruits new employees to ensure appropriate staffing, promote team-building initiatives, and performs coaching/mentoring activities to develop and motivate team members.
    • Ensures that employees are properly trained and audit safety records as needed.
    • Sets, measures, and manages the performance of self and others. Leads team members in achieving/exceeding operational and financial objectives and goals.
    • Ensures compliance with rules and standards of all relevant regulatory agencies and applicable laws.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Must be a local (in-state) resident.
    • Valid In-State Drivers License.
    • High School diploma or GED.

    Experience:

    • Two+ years of relevant experience.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Must have strong organizational skills.
    • Four-year college education or equivalent experience (preferred).
    • Four+ years of relevant experience (preferred).
    • Relevant supervisory experience (preferred).

    Work Schedule:

    You will need to have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. We operate in a shift bid environment.

    Work Environment:

    Must be able to be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment.

    Enjoy the outdoors on a daily basis (sun, rain, sleet or snow) May be exposed to a wide variety of weather conditions, jet and machinery noises, fumes, dirt and dust for extended periods.

    Physical Demands/Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift / carry / push / pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
    • Must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods.
    • Must be able to work in cramped or high places.
    • Must be able to carry heavy items up and down jet way stairs.
    • Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, printer, and phone.
