    The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for defining, developing, executing, and maintaining (automated) test environment, documenting test results and best practices, and additionally supporting the software development team with analysis and debugging of identified software faults.

    This individual will take a lead in initiatives to address test approach & frameworks, and project problem solving/decision making will be required.

    This position offers the flexibility to be fully remote, or work out of the office in San Antonio, TX in a hybrid schedule.


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Design and implement QA test plans and test matricesPreparation, execution, and documentation for software component testing (both manual and automated testing).Integration, functional and non-functional testing based on component level.

    Analyzing, reproducing, and reporting component defects and special situationsProvide bug reports to the development engineers and work directly with development engineers to troubleshoot potential problem areasDesign and implement test harnesses (test automation frameworks) and integrate this to build and release frameworksAutomation of recurring test cases in a test scripting tool (including API testing)

    Participate in review activities (project plans, requirement, design, and test case) to assume joint responsibility with other team members on quality and scheduleEnsure that all above activities are conducted consistently and in accordance with company policies and proceduresOther testing activities:
    system, usability, performance, and regression testing.
    Estimation and planning.

    Research functionality and implementation of current and future testing techniques and technologiesParticipate in departmental improvement and innovation processes to deliver projects that enhance project/department performance to enable positive business results.


    Education & Experience Requirements:


    Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university program in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

    Minimum 3 years of previous experience in software testing and test methodologies (developing test cases, test procedures, test scripts and test reports and doing the "hands on" implementation of those plans).Minimum 5 years of previous experience in mobile device testing a plus (iOS, Android, etc.)


    Minimum 5 years of previous experience in testing and designing automation frameworks (selenium, appium, etc.)Minimum 5 years of previous experience with source repository systems (git, subversion, etc.)

    The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location. $77,425 - $93,100 base salary.
