    Description

    A Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for a highly motivated Field Engineer to join our team in Portland, OR. This is an mid-levelposition requiring 2-5 years' experience working with concrete or pipe.

    Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals.
    • Assist in management of project permit process.
    • Assist is preparation of bid packages and procurement.
    • Receive and review change orders.
    • Assist more senior civil engineers with entry level engineering tasks
    • Assist with performing onsite construction administration and construction observation services including reporting/monitoring contractor's compliance with contract documents.
    • Evaluates change order requests including design changes, specifications and drawing releases and reports status.
    • Evaluates submittals of shop drawings, material data and samples and takes appropriate action based upon contract specifications.
    • Reviews and processes as-built drawings to ensure that all changes during the course of construction are recorded.
    • Completes project close out requirements in accordance with contract documents.
    • Coordinates meeting agendas, prepares minutes and follows up on action items
    • Maintains effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers and contractors.
    • Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Construction/related degree with 2-5 years construction experience
    • Excellent computer skills and analytical ability
    • Experience working with Primavera P6, AutoCad
    • Understanding of industrial construction process
    • Prefer - Experience in civil, infrastructure to include: concrete,pipeline, water treatment, marine, etc.)
    • Must have ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings
    • Knowledge of contract procedures and principles
    • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment
    • Ability to understand construction logic and sequencing of complex projects

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Construction Management orCivil Engineering
    Relevant experience can waive degree.
