- Assist cardiothoracic surgeons during surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair/replacement, and other complex cardiac surgeries.
- Perform preoperative assessments, including history and physical examinations, and obtain informed consent from patients.
- Participate in intraoperative management, including exposure, hemostasis, tissue handling, and suturing.
- Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic status during surgery and respond to any changes promptly.
- Assist with postoperative care, including wound management, pain management, and patient education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Maryland.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physician Assistant in a surgical setting, preferably in cardiac surgery or a related field.
- Proficiency in surgical techniques and perioperative patient care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
