    JOB DESCRIPTIONSummary Regal Boats is seeking a mechanical engineer who will be responsible for engineering design, testing, and integration of new products.

    The engineer will be involved in multiple areas of interest in the new product development cycle including mechanical design and structural composites.

    This role will take ownership of their areas throughout the development cycle of new products including concept, design, prototype, integration into production, and market introduction.

    This role will be involved in these areas for the entire Regal product line.

    Owner of unique areas of engineering interest for new products including mechanical design, structural composites, naval architecture, and systems engineeringDesigns mechanical linkages and moving assemblies in CADDevelops layouts and build drawings for HVAC and other yacht systems in 2D and 3D CADDesigns and analyzes structural grids and components to meet requirementsEvaluates composite materials and develops layup schedule for FRP partsResearches and tests new materials and components to evaluate feasibility for our productsFollows new products through the prototype process to validate designs and adjust accordinglyConstant focus on design for manufacturingWorks with third party vendors to bring in appropriate materials and components to meet our needsRepresents Regal internally and externally as a professional, ethical, and socially responsible individualRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related fieldCAD software experience, including Rhino, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Catia, Pro-E2 years of knowledge of the boating industry, including familiarity with major brands and featuresUnderstanding of design for manufacturingAbility to work both independently and as a part of a teamDemonstrated problem-solving skills in a professional settingUnderstanding of finite element and finite volume methods for use in structural and fluids analysis softwaresStrong project management skills, including a demonstrated track record of successful projects and implementationProficient in Google G-Suite or Microsoft Office software suiteConversational EnglishPreferred QualificationsAbility to drive and trailer boatsPassion for the boating industry and experience with different types/styles of boatsStrong technical knowledge of marine systems and materialsExperience working in a manufacturing environmentStrong relationship builder and a personal desire to winHighly motivated self-starter and deadline drivenAbility to multi-task and work cross-functionallyTeam player mentality, but able to work independently as requiredStrong interpersonal, listening, questioning, and communication skills (written and oral)Energetic, proactive and focusedProfessional memberships in industry organizations such as ABYC & NMMAWork EnvironmentMust be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature reaching over 100 degrees fahrenheit at times.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.

    The employee is frequently required to climb into and out of the boats using stairs.

    The employee must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10-hour days with most of the time being on your feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.

    Must be able to, with or without correct close vision, ability to adjust focus, and be able to distinguish between different colors.
