    Position Summary:
    The Shop Service Technician- Utilities will diagnose, repair, and maintain customer equipment, including but not limited to: bucket trucks, diggers, truck cranes, boom trucks


    Essential Job Functions:

    • Diagnose and repair Utility vehicle hydraulic systems.
    • Diagnose and repair Utility vehicle mechanical systems.
    • Diagnose and repair Utility vehicle electrical/electronic systems.
    • Perform di-electric and ground system tests.
    • Interpret customer's service orders and plans support activity accordingly.
    • Identifies and order parts as needed for repairs
    • Responsible for entering repair information into the Company maintenance system using smart phone, tablet, or computer.
    • Other functions as directed by supervisor

    Education & Experience:

    • Qualified Utility Inspector certification is preferred but not required.
    • Trade School diploma or military training specific to this field is preferred but not required.
    • Previous experience as a Utility Fleet Equipment Mechanic/Technician is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of Hydraulic and Electrical systems operation and repair is preferred.
    • Continuing education with verifiable credits from Manufacturer's technical schools or training programs is preferred.
    • Willingness to receive ongoing training, both internal and from our vendor partners
    • Must be able to obtain certifications for Fluid Power, ANSI, OSHA, ASE, Di-Electric, HyRail Physical Demands & Work Environment
    • Lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity necessary.
    • Ability to lift 70 lbs.
    • Ability to operate a forklift safely.
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment WorkSTEPS physical.
    • Requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen to the satisfaction of McClung-Logan Equipment Company.
    • This position is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels.
    • Must a possess a clean MVR & valid Driver's License
    • This job requires the ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certification. Requires working and driving outdoors in various climates/temperatures and the possibility of sitting for an extended period PI8b6d517a108e
