$20,000 Sign-On Bonus available for candidates who are selected by September 30th, 2023, with certain conditions.
Tier 1 Supplemental Staffing RNs at VCU Health System provide support by floating across units and areas within the organization. This flex pool includes Registered Nurses working with adult and pediatric inpatient care. They offer 24/7 support to various units, procedural areas, and specialties within VCUHS. Reassignments may happen in 4-hour blocks, including the opportunity to float to other VCUHS facilities.
The Clinical Nurse II role showcases a mastery of clinical skills focused on a specific patient population. The job involves preventing illness and injury, maintaining wellness, providing comfort, and recognizing changes in patient conditions. Clinical Nurse II also provides education, leadership, and accurate documentation of care.
Clinical Nurse III demonstrates clinical knowledge at the unit level, applying it to specific patient populations. They anticipate changes in patient conditions, intervene appropriately, provide education, and serve as role models. Clinical Nurse III delivers age-specific care, administers medications, and documents care accurately.
Performance Expectations include Continuing Nursing Education requirements, utilization of nursing process, nurse-patient relationship, education commitment, leadership, and participation in special projects.
Education/training required: Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing for Clinical Nurses II and III. Registered nurses without a Bachelor's in Nursing must enroll in an RN to BSN program within two years of starting and complete it within five years.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements: Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible state for Clinical Nurses II and III.
Required experience varies for Clinical Nurses II and III along with preferred education/training. Other knowledge, skills, and abilities are outlined along with physical requirements and age-specific groups served.
