    Description:


    Under the supervision of pathologists, assists with preparing and selecting/dissecting tissue samples for analysis, including small biopsies and a variety of large specimens.

    Record Findings. Teaches techniques of specimen dissection and tissue sectioning for microscopic examination to residents rotating through the Department. Prepare frozen section slides for Pathologist. Prepare digital photograph of gross pathology specimen for teaching and publications.

    Maintain the supplies in frozen section room and grossing room. Participate in quality assurance assessment and other duties required by medical director. Communicates effectively with Surgeons, Primary Care Physicians, visitors, co-workers and other employees.


    Education:
    Bachelor's / Master's degree from an accredited Pathology Assistant

    program. Certification as a pathology assistant preferred.

    Able to read, write and speak English.

    Certification as a pathology assistant preferred

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS AND LEVEL OF AUTONOMY:
    Performs duties under the direction and supervision of a qualified Pathologist. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

    Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.

    If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date.

    If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.
