RYZ Labs is hiring a Personal Care Assistant, who provides support services to assist clients with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker, or other health care professional.

The Personal Care Assistant may work in a variety of settings, including homes or schools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides services to persons who need help with daytoday activities
Demonstrates competence in performing the necessary skills and performing those skills on the plan of care
Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client's health
Assists with transfers and ambulation
Aids teacher in helping students learn and provides feedback to students and supervisors/teachers (if applicable)
Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan (if applicable)
In a school setting, accompanies the student on the bus to and from school (if applicable)
Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with the client
May assist in the supervision of students during recess and lunch periods and accompany students on community experiences
Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements
Assists client in the development of independent skills through selfcare activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene
Implements behavior management techniques in accordance with the directions given by the supervisor/healthcare practitioner, including reinforcing appropriate behaviors in accordance with plans and discouraging negative behavior, managing time out, or other techniques as directed
Appropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by the care plan
Maintains confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families and employees
Adheres to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

State licensure or certification as required by the state and/or program
One (1) year of relevant experience preferred
Current BLS Card
Current PPD or Chest X-Ray
Knowledge of child growth and development
Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the home, school, local health agency, and other community resources
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, coworkers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
