    Position: Production Engineer

    Primary Location: Richmond, CA

    Schedule: M-F

    Reports to: Operations Manager

    Compensation: $120,000 - $130,000 + bonus + benefits. (salaried, exempt)

    Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific salary range for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives

    About This Role and You

    The Production Engineer at our Richmond, CA sulphuric acid plant supports the safe and efficient operation of the plant. They will monitor routine operations of chemical processing units to assure compliance with established operating procedures. The Production Engineer implements plant capital projects as directed including establishment of project scope, development of Appropriation Request, procurement of materials and project management. They will also assume the role of the site Quality Management Representative and maintain the site Quality Documentation Management System

    Qualifications

    • minimum 3 years' of experience in process engineering and design within a chemical processing environment
    • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering degree from an accredited university
    • Proficiency in Process design, analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM to guide and initiate/monitor/audit site safety in a chemical process environment
    • Demonstrated commitment to employee health and safety
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to travel 5% of the time mostly in the United States, but could include Canada

    Medical Requirement

    Chemtrade is committed to the safety and health of its employees and the public. All employees are required to complete and pass their annually held medical assessments, including but not limited to the Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and the ability to wear a respirator as a condition of employment

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in implementing production/processing methods and controls to meet quality & production standards in a safe and cost efficient manner
    • Implement standards for measuring and reporting operational reliability as a reflection of operational function effectiveness
    • Prepare process engineering designs, calculations, and reports for various projects around the company
    • Active in facility shutdowns to assist with inspections and provide a resource when trouble-shooting problems
    • Lead various special project teams and audits to ensure compliance with internal and external rules and regulations
    • Act as a process engineering resource for the company to assure the utilization of Good Engineering Practices and proper materials of construction, benchmarking processes & practices from other plants.
    • Participate in problem solving and/or goal setting activities of departments as circumstances warrant, providing assistance and expertise to resolve technical issues
    • Act as plant coordinator of process safety management program including HAZ-OPS, Management of Change (MOC)
