The role of a human milk technician involves the preparation, delivery and monitoring of human milk, donor milk, infant and pediatric formulas. The technician ensures adherence to food safety regulations and standards established by regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation: Verify patient-specific feeding orders before preparing and labeling human milk or formula.
• Calculate, prepare, label, and store human milk or formula using FIFO methods.

Sanitation & Safety:

Maintain sanitation in prep areas ensuring compliance with HACCP guidelines. Clean equipment as per regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

This role requires effective communication skills for interaction with healthcare team members. A high school diploma is required; an Associate's degree in Biology/Microbiology/Dietetic Services is preferred. Experience in healthcare/food service/related field is also necessary.
