    Job Description

    Insight Global is hiring 6 Risk Adjustment HCC Medical coders (100% REMOTE) to support a backlog for inpatient and outpatient needs.

    Must obtain an active Coding certification (CPC) through AAPC or AHIMA.
    Will be coding more risk adjustment vs profee.
    Most of the markets are strictly risk adjustment focusing on HCC ICD-10 codes only.

    We do code from the problem list with supporting documentation, so experience with problem list coding is a plus, but not required as not all risk adjustment coders will have experience there.

    Will also be responsible to validate the CPT codes and non-HCC codes. These markets are still only reviewing Medicare Advantage members. I would say 20-30% of our work require CPT review.
    Also, most of the projects are concurrent coding. (Current progress notes, only reviewing one progress note at a time).

    Our concurrent coding projects will also require the coders to query the providers for conflicting documentation or lack of specificity, and occasionally suspect.

    We do sometimes have retro projects that will encompass reviewing all progress notes for one patient in a one-to-two-year period.

    All our retro projects are HCC coding only.
    We have opportunities to review the following chart types.
    Outpatient
    Including all specialties acceptable for risk adjustment.
    Common specialties include, but not limited to
    Family Medicine
    Internal Medicine
    Cardiology
    Pulmonology
    Podiatry
    Ophthalmology
    Neurology
    Behavior Health
    Cancer Centers
    Inpatient (Hospital and/or SNF)
    Home visits

    Skills and Requirements
    Must have a High School diploma or GED
    Active CPC certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
    Must have 4-5 years of HCC/RISK ADJUSTMENT coding experience.
    Must have concurrent coding experience
    CPT review experience
    inpatient and/OR outpatient experience
    Ability to maintain an accuracy score of 96% and 4-5 charts/hour Fee for Service coding experience null
