    The Opportunity

    This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the Global Engineering Services division.

    As the Breakfast Cook, youll provide guest service and meals that satisfy and exceed our guests expectations. Assure that high levels of sanitation and safety are met. Plan, prepare, cook and serve quality meals to our guests. You will be responsible for supervision of grill staff, inventory and ordering of grill supplies.

    Your workday will start at 5:00am and end at 1:30pm. Monday through Friday.

    What Youll Work On

    This position is responsible for general food service work involving varied tasks including preparing food for Breakfast Menu Items. Responsible for sanitation and food safety in designated food station. Assist Caf management with food production, catering and other designated projects and events.

    Must possess the ability to:

    • Maintain a high level of quality and integrity of food confidence with customers
    • Provide Outstanding customer service
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to cook to order in fast quick manner in highly organized methods
    • Assist Chef with food ordering for the designated stations
    • Maintain food ordering sheet with needed food requests to ensure that product is on hand
    • Assist in putting away stock
    • Open kitchen and turn on equipment as required
    • Maintain sanitation of station, sanitation certification
    • Deliver catering orders as needed
    • Communicate needs to Caf Staff accurately and timely
    • Train for the ability to fill in at all other Caf Stations as needed
    • Ability to follow a recipe to Chefs/Team specification
    • Assist Chef in Kitchen preparation
    • Work a flexible schedule as required by catering needs
    • Assist with other Caf duties and stations as required
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education: High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum of Three years experience in a kitchen environment
    • Basic understanding of institutional foodservice objectives and knowledge of equipment use.
    • Loading/lifting, bending, turning, reaching/handling, twisting, rolling/pushing, sterilization of knives, all equipment (steamers, ovens, registers, etc.)
    • Daily interruptions include: frequency of equipment/environmental noise, telephone/alarms/timers, co-workers/guest interaction. Responsible for self.

    PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Culinary Arts Degree Preferred
    • Customer Service Experience
    • Prior experience in banquet service a plus
    • Flexibility of working different Stations
    • Quick learning agility

    The base pay for this position is $15.85 $31.65 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
