UW Medicine - Telecom has an outstanding opportunity to hire a TELEPHONE COMMUNICATIONS SUPERVISOR.WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week, Variable Shifts
Occasionally off-shift to meet with Night Shift staff
On-call as emergency backup supervisor, schedule to be determined
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Supervise Evening and Night Shift Hospital Operators, as well as perform the duties of a Hospital Operator
Provide prompt courteous service using your excellent communications skills with internal and external customers

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The UW Medicine Telecom Team provides 24/7 coverage answering the UWMC and HMC switchboards
Our team values excellent customer service, timely response, accurate dispatch and paging, and courteous processing of calls
We receive and route calls for our patients, their families, and staff
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Operator Services Manager to implement, monitor and model all performance goals for Operators: customer service, call handling, training and support of the UW Medicine Mission
Maintain operator training and reference manuals; log statistics and provide reports of Operator metrics
Assist in hiring and training of new Operators
Answer and transfer external and internal calls to the switchboard; screen calls as necessary to answer questions and determine the nature of the business involved
Provide paging services using our staff directory and medical on-call schedule
Monitor and respond to alarms; receive and dispatch emergency calls, including Code Blue and other medical emergencies
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Certificate AND three years of experience (including one year of telephone lead or supervisory experience) as a Telephone Communications Operator/Telephone Communications Operator - Hospital
Six months of additional qualifying experience may substitute for required education
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
