    What is the role?

    The USR role is primarily responsible for providing exceptional member service through a consultative approach by engaging our members in solutions based conversations.

    This position is a relationship building role with a blend of financial transactions performed on the teller-line, coaching members through our digital lens, and further deepening relationships with account servicing and basic loan originations.

    What will be expected of me?

    Resolves member related issues and assists with transactions.


    Gains permission to ask key open-ended discovery questions to uncover financial values and gather short-term and long-term goals that connect to financial values.


    Describes how the right product(s)/service(s) can fulfill needs, goals and values after a holistic picture of the member is established.

    Assist member with basic lending solutions.

    Is fully engaged with every member interaction ensuring every member feels valued.

    Use Westerra technology to facilitate and educate members on how to utilize self-service basic transactions in the lobby.

    Contributes to branch goals and supports current business priorities and initiatives.

    Adheres to all Westerra policies and procedures and Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union.

    Thrives in a team focused environment.

    What will I bring?


    Experience and education:
    Minimum 1 year customer service experience

    Cash handling experience required

    Strong sales and referral disposition required

    High School Diploma or GED required


    Skills and abilities:
    Ability to understand and respond to member needs

    Willingness to embrace a digital first mindset when assisting members

    Strong verbal and interpersonal communication

    Proven attention to detail

    Ability to solve problems and respond with appropriate solution

    Basic Computer Knowledge

    Basic understanding of business and operating environment

    Accountable for the completion of assigned tasks

    Ability to understand straightforward, administrative, and/or other basic product and service offerings

    What is the work environment like, and are there physical requirements for this role?
    Office environment Works primarily at a desk Salary: this position starts at $20 per hour. In addition to the starting rate, this role is also eligible for Westerra's self-funding reward plan.

    This plan pays out a cash incentive annually if the company hits specific criteria tied to our financial goals and you will have a direct impact on the outcome of those results.
