    Description

    Essential Functions:

    • Requires constant physical activity throughout shift (except breaks and lunch) such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing 50 lbs.
    • Manages the Purchasing for KPEX. Ensures the department follows proper procedures.
    • Develops, implements, and maintains the procurement practices and procedures.
    • Selects vendors, and contractors based on capabilities. Develops alternate sources, and evaluates their performance based on the company's need and requirements.
    • Negotiates price, delivery and contracts and maintains records of bids and contracts.
    • Makes all purchases based upon price, quality, delivery, usage, history, and availability.
    • Ensures purchasing documents are properly completed and maintained.
    • Ensures terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate and maintained; follows up on back orders, expedites delivery when required, and communicates to appropriate departments any changes.
    • Maintains up-to-date data in the inventory system and proper filing of required documents on pricing and vendors.
    • Maintains raw material inventory at proper levels to ensure productivity is maximized.
    • Monitors training and evaluates skill levels and development of department employees.
    • Responsible for processing daily customer orders from EDI system and e-mail and relay info to "production" on daily basis.
    • Schedule all materials for shipment based on customer requirements.
    • Place purchase orders for all components for Tier 1 material and work with suppliers to insure they ship as requested and provide shipper documentation as back up. Process receipts of these shipments in the ERP as shipped.
    • Purchase office supplies and MRO materials as required.

    Job Related Functions:

    • Self-starter, multi-tasked and detailed oriented. Good computer and math skills.
    • Observes all safety rules.
    • Maintains good 5S program of related area at all times.
    • Ability to troubleshoot system shipping errors and correct as needed.
    • General knowledge of weight restrictions, limits for carriers.

    Educational Requirements:

    • BA/BS degree from an accredited university preferred, 5-7 years of purchasing experience.
