    StarPlus Energy, a joint venture between Samsung/Stellantis, join us in establishing the first plant of its kind in Indiana.     The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing the EV battery production process to elevate safety, quality, productivity, and sustainability. This role involves continuous improvement initiatives, defect analysis, production line control, total quality review, engineering change management, and various miscellaneous tasks.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Leadership and Mentoring:
    • Lead Cross-Functional Team (CFT) activities to troubleshoot inefficiencies and optimize productivity.
    • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless production flow.
    • Participate in creating and supervising process engineer development plans and mentorships.
    • Drive and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to achieve departmental goals.
  • Defect Analysis:
    • Utilize Statistical Process Control software's to analyze production and quality trends.
    • Generate reports using 5Why's, 4W1H, 8D, and fishbone diagrams for defect and abnormality analysis.
    • Develop mitigation plans with data-driven countermeasures.
    • Support the Quality Department with abnormalities and defect analysis reports.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Lead and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) and development activities for both products and processes.
    • Lead projects to optimize processes and improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
    • Utilize DMAIC to target areas or specific equipment for improvement.
  • Production Line Control:
    • Standardize equipment parameters and processes.
    • Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions, operating procedures, process flow documentation, and PFMEAs.
    • Support Cross-functional Team (CFT) based activities with production and maintenance to troubleshoot inefficiencies and optimize productivity.
  • Technical Project Management:
    • Process and manage Engineering Change Requests, SOPs / VSOPs, and Production Line Recipes through PLM.
    • Utilize designated process for production line approval.
    • Support with qualification, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Site Acceptance Test (SAT) protocols for incoming equipment.
  • Miscellaneous Tasks:
    • Participate in new hire orientation, training, or recruiting events.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned.
    Requirements

    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical).
    Experience:
    • 3+ years' experience in a highly automated production environment and continuous improvement.
    • Experience in time studies, line balancing, lean manufacturing, bottleneck analysis, PFMEAs, and process controls.
    • Proven expertise in data analytics (Minitab, JMP, Spotfire).
    • Demonstrated technical problem-solving ownership and proficiency.
    • Experience in validation of needed equipment capacities, commissioning, and ramp- up schedules.
    • Possesses ability to handle multiple projects.

    Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
    • Advanced or Master's Degree.
    • Lean Six Sigma Certified (Black belt/Green belt).
    • Complex process management capability.
    • Team leadership experience.
    • Familiarity with visual KPI dashboard tools and automation.
    Working Conditions Physical Requirements:
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
    • Travel may be required at times (domestic/international).
    • Working overtime, weekends, or holidays may be required at times.
    • Ability to sit, walk and stand for long periods throughout the day.
    • Ability to gown and wear appropriate PPE in dry room conditions on the manufacturing floor.
