    Job Description:

    Key Responsibilities

    Drive buses for PLNU events, ensuring safe and timely transportation for students, staff, faculty, and guests.
    Perform preventive maintenance on buses and report findings to motor pool dispatch for follow-up.

    Pre-trip inspections include:

    • Airbrake inspections
    • Check fluids levels
    • Check tires, incl. air pressure, etc.
    • Cleaning of buses, report repair requests to motor pool dispatch
    • Ensure that buses are road-ready and safe to operate
    • Assist with the needed repairs
    • Provide exceptional customer service that is characterized by warm, friendly and helpful to all PLNU students, staff, faculty and guests
    • To have full understanding of all PLNU shuttle service routes
    • Other duties as assigned
    Qualifications
    • Must have a valid class B driver's license with a passenger endorsement, air brakes, good driving record and insurable.
    • Must be service orientated in performing duties in a cooperative, efficient and energetic manner
    • Ability to respond to changes in work schedule and assignments with short notice.
    • Able to maintain professionalism at all times
    • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.
    • The job offer is contingent on a clear background check and pre-employment physical.
    • Must pass random alcohol and drug screening.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to drive 4 hours at a time.
    • Ability to assist passengers as necessary.
    • Must be able to bend and stoop and lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to respond to changes in work schedule and assignments with short notice.
    • Ability to grip and hold steering wheel.
    • Ability to keep arms elevated to level of steering wheel for prolonged periods.
    • Ability to rotate head freely in all directions.
