    JOB OVERVIEW - This position:

  • Provides advanced level technical support on the most complex Maintenance/ security systemsPC problems, coordinating with outside vendors and other agency personnel as required.
  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and minor training to department staff, which have widely varying computer skills, withPC hardware, and software problem(s).
  • Will test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems involvingMSP/MCE security systems .
  • Establishes and coordinates criterion for integrating systems for information sharing.
  • Expands or modifies system to serve new purposes or improve workflow.Plan new systems for scalability.
  • Trains staff and users to work with computer systems and programs.
  • Provides recommendations in the evaluation and recommendation ofsecurity used computersfor purchase to solve their computing and connectivity needs.Testing and evaluation of new network and desktop software in regard to maintenance HVAC and IP based camera systems.
  • Creates technical specifications, evaluation of vendor proposals and award recommendations.
  • Provides input to, and coordinates with, the Department Security Officer and the Department Network Operations Manager on security policies, procedures and problems or issues as required.
  • Assists or design plans for security or HVAC workstation replacement which includes: upgrading, installation, interruption mitigation andlogistic planning.
  • Communicates and assists in resolvingmaintenance and security system software direction and standards for all department divisions to ensure the functionality of the department's systems with the state network or standalone systems by working with IBTB, the network operations manager, and teams of department personnel.This includes proper selection of software drivers, memory configurations, and protocol stack setup.
  • Is responsible for the supervision and training of an inmate work force.

    QUALIFICATIONS - High school graduation or equivalent plus a minimum two years of job related experience. Must be able to obtain a Montana Stationary Engineer's License. Must have and maintain a Montana driver's license in good standing.
