    Job Description


    Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall management and operation of the Campus retail foodservice in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations, company policies and procedures, to ensure that quality food service and nutritional care is provided to the students, employees, and guests.

    Essential Functions


    • Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
    • Oversee and manage daily food service operations. Maintain cash control and payroll records. Ensure adequate, well-trained staff. Prepare work schedules for employees within the department, ensuring adequate staffing for all shifts. Plan and supervise special functions.
    • Develop departmental policies, procedures and protocols to ensure efficient operations.
    • Prepare annual budget for food service and monitor throughout the fiscal year for efficient usage.
    • Maintain customer satisfaction and good public relations. Serve as the contact for all food service related issues. Ensure the proper requisitioning of materials and equipment. Ensure all sanitation and safety procedures are recognized and enforced to ensure a safe environment for all. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws, licensure and regulating agencies. Maintain control of cash received and insure compliance with College Procedure on Control of Cash.
    • Prepare and report revenue and expenditure reports daily. Review reports prepared by others for presentation to the Board of Regents.
    • Assess performance and report on performance of personnel assigned to the Food Services Department.
    • Assist in resolving employee grievances within the department. Take corrective action as deemed necessary.

    Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills


    • Associate Degree from an accredited post-secondary culinary program. One year of appropriate work experience may be substituted for one year of college on a year-for-year basis with a maximum substitution of two years.
    • Three years of commercial or institutional cooking experience, with at least two years of experience at a supervisory level.
    • Possess or be able to qualify for a food handler's certificate.
    • ServSafe certified.
    • Possess strong management, team building and communication skills.
    • Require attention to detail

    Restricted:
    Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. . Occasional lifting & carrying of inventory (60 lbs. or less). Some walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis.

    • This job description covers a position in which the percentage of time spent on the essential functions will vary based on the workload and will ultimately be determined by the supervisor.
