OverviewThe wheeled vehicle mechanic is primarily responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles and associated items, as well as heavy-wheeled vehicles and select armored vehicles.
Job Duties

• Maintain wheeled vehicles, their associated trailers, and material handling equipment systems.
• Inspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing, replacement, adjusting and testing of wheeled vehicles and material handling equipment systems, subsystems and components.
• Service automotive electrical systems including wiring harness, and starting and charging systems.
• Perform wheeled vehicle recovery operations.

• Complete the (ASVAB) that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.

TrainingJob training for a wheeled vehicle mechanic requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.
