    Job Title: Support Staff Substitute

    Schedule:
    On-Call Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm


    Reporting Days:
    On-Call


    Compensation: Hourly


    Evaluation Rubric: N/A


    Starting Pay: $13/hour


    Minimum Qualifications Required:

    Education:
    High School Diploma required


    Experience:
    Education experience preferred


    Certification: None


    Background: Clear FBI background check

    Language:
    Strong verbal and writing skills in English; Spanish fluency preferred

    Job Duties
    Classroom Instruction


    • Substitute when needed to collaborate with supervising teacher to provide instructional support to students.
    • Assist students to reach academic success.
    • When subbing, create a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engage the interests of the students, and allow them to perform at their very best.
    • Differentiate assistance based on individual needs, learning style, and abilities.
    Classroom and School Culture


    • Communicates a deep belief that all students can learn, and belong, in the classroom.
    • Consistently implements school-wide management policies.
    • Creates a positive learning environment by developing classroom rules, systems, and procedures.
    • Holds high expectations for student behavior at all times.

    Communication


    • Communicates professionally with parent/guardians and the community.
    • Communicates with lead teacher to meet expectations
    • Communicates regularly with school leadership and other faculty to maximize effective instructional activities.

    • Models the Athlos culture.
    • Implements school policies.
    • Tracks student attendance, behavioral issues, and classroom events.
    • Gives and receives positive and constructive feedback from colleagues.
    • Honors schedules and deadlines.
    Other duties as assigned.


    Knowledge and Skills

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Classroom and video platforms such as: Zoom or Teams.
    • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage the entire classroom.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Experience working in diverse communities and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives.
    • Demonstrated integrity and high standards in managing information in a confidential and professional manner.
