Description
Comunilife Inc. is looking to fillMaintenance Specialist position for its Brooklyn Congregate program. The Maintenance Specialist will be responsible to repair and maintain assigned premises and keep the facility clean and organized. Responsible for the general safety conditions of the assigned facility. Ensure cleanliness and maintain building(s) in good condition and repair to ensure the safety and comfort of the staff and clients and protect the Programs physical facility. Ensures compliance with regulatory environmental standards. Other responsibilities include working harmoniously with staff in accordance with Comunilife principles and guidelines. This position is eligible to participate in Comunilife's generous benefit package including health insurance, dental, vision, dependent care, paid time off, 401(k), tuition assistance program and more.
Essential Duties:
+ Monitor the Facilitys interior and exterior entrances for cleanliness (including snow removal and removal of other hazardous conditions).
+ Complete Work Orders assigned in an efficient and proficient manner.
+ Work in a pleasant and respectful manner with all clients.
+ Assist in fire safety and evacuation drills, procedures and training.
+ Alert the direct supervisor, Asst. Director, Director or designee, of any unusual occurrences or violation of rules and regulations (i.e., no smoking regulations).
+ Carry out cleaning duties as assigned to ensure the building reflects the standard of hygiene outlined and as directed by Comunilife management, including care of floors, bathrooms and public areas.
+ Troubleshoot and perform repairs including, but not limited to:
+ Painting, patching and sheet rocking
+ Light plumbing including unclogging drains and basic plumbing skills
+ Light electrical (from the wall out) including replacing fixtures and lighting ballast
+ Lighting in general including bulb and switch plate replacement
+ Lock repair and replacement
+ Floor tile repair and installation including base
+ General carpentry including interior renovation, ductwork and tasks as assigned
+ HVAC system cleaning, filter and belt changes
+ Monitor heating and air conditioning systems, including logging and reporting problems and potential issues. Emphasis on preventative maintenance.
+ Move and relocate furniture, computers, office supplies, etc. as needed.
+ Take inventory of janitorial supplies, hand towels, toilet tissue, etc., regularly and ensure replacement.
+ Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices
+ Attend training programs and meetings as instructed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirement(s):
+ High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year maintenance experience.
+ Must be able to demonstrate good skills in general maintenance including cleaning, tiling, plumbing, heating, electrical etc.
+ Drivers License required for some locations.
