The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences within the UW School of Medicine is the third largest clinical department within the School of Medicine with 330 full-time faculty members, 460 courtesy faculty members, and over 350 staff.

The Center for Novel Therapeutics in Addiction Psychiatry (NTAP) is hiring for a part-time study therapist (Mental Health Practitioner (NE S CNU)).
Located within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, NTAP is a group of researchers focusing on the use of psychedelics and other emerging therapies to treat addition and co-morbidities.

This temporary, half-time (50%) position involves a lead-clinical psychotherapist role in a pilot research study examining the use of psilocybin and supportive therapy to treat PTSD and Alcohol Use Disorder. The lead-study therapist will help with screening, baseline assessments, ongoing assessments and help the research team develop procedures and best practices.
This is a supervisory position that will be required to use independent judgment and clinical expertise in diverse situations.
The position will function independently, supervising study staff, managing a wide range of activities, and identifying when issues need to be escalated to the PI for input.
The position is best suited for someone with experience providing psychotherapy to patients with PTSD and AUD, as well as experience as providing supervision to other therapists.
This role will oversee a team of volunteer therapists and will provide weekly group supervision to the therapists, provide some direct psychotherapy to participants, and help provide training to the team.
This position will have responsibility for training and overseeing research staff that will deliver psychotherapy to participants in a clinical trial.
This position must maintain positive and effective relationships with a wide range of therapists, colleagues, faculty, staff, community partners and research subjects.
This position will represent the university in diverse settings, including patient settings, and will influence the perception of the university to community partners, funders and collaborators.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead-study therapist duties (50%)
Provide weekly supervision to team of therapists to review cases.
Assist study therapists with providing referrals to participants if needed.
Ensure study therapists are using appropriate screening tools and measures as outlined in study protocol.
Provide supervision to therapist-team when clinical questions emerge. Help develop therapists training and ongoing teaching to study therapists over the course of the study.
Research activities (50%)
Work with Principal Investigator to ensure therapists are following protocols.
Help with data collection.
Participate in research meetings.
Assist team with research dissemination.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Train and supervise research study therapists, staff, volunteers, graduate students, and/or post-doctoral fellows assisting with clinical trials within the Center for Novel Therapeutics in Addiction Psychiatry.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A master's degree in behavioral sciences, such as psychology, psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, vocational or educational counseling, or social work OR Bachelor's degree in nursing or a behavioral science and three years of experience in the direct delivery of professional mental health care OR Equivalent education/experience.
Clinical training and clinical licensure so as to be able to provide brief psychosocial interventions, including Licensed Mental Health Counselor/Professional Counselor; Licensed Social Worker; Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; Licensed Psychologist.
Ability to deliver psychotherapy on-site in Seattle WA.
Experience with psychedelic clinical research trials for novel indications.
Experience working in multidisciplinary care teams.
Knowledge of health and social service organizations in the Seattle area.
