    Job Summary


    As a Protech Calibration Technician Apprentice you will be provided mentorship and training to learn how to perform a wide range of Advanced Driver Assistance System Calibrations by following OE specifications and repair standards.

    You will gain confidence as a calibration technician across a wide range of manufacturers.

    Initial training is provided by Protech as well as a robust virtual support team and continuing education on new vehicle technology.

    The goal will be to graduate from a Calibration Technician Apprentice to either a Protech Calibration Technician or On-Site Calibration by the end of the 7th month in this roll.

    Roles & Responsibilities


    • Customer service focused, ability to develop relationships and deliver operational consistency
    • Perform static and dynamic ADAS Calibrations on foreign, domestic and EV (electric) vehicles onsite at customer locations
    • Troubleshoot complex calibration repairs
    • Test drive vehicles after repairs are completed
    • Adequately explain ADAS calibration specifications and repair planning needs; to include collision repair center personnel, insurance adjusters, and direct customers
    • Basic knowledge of how to remove and install vehicle parts - Example: Bumper, trim panels, mirrors
    • Complete pre and post scans with OE and/or aftermarket tools, communicate outcome effectively
    • After training completion, must be able to complete static and dynamic calibrations per OE specifications
    • Communicate with field team to ensure efficiency and productivity
    • Responsible for ensuring tooling software updates are completed immediately
    • Accountable for assigned inventory (including vehicles, mobile devices, laptops, OE scan tools, VCI, other equipment provided)
    • Participate in virtual (online) training sessions
    • Complete assigned training and certifications
    • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships through our company purpose and core values
    • Maintain a well-organized work area

    Qualifications, Education & Experience:

    • 1-year automotive repair experience preferred but not required
    • Automotive repair experience preferred but not required
    • Trade school experience a plus
    • ASE or I-CAR certifications a plus
    • Ability to learn and understand collision repair processes and terminology
    • Successfully complete Protech ADAS Calibration Training
    • Understanding of technology & basic software programs
    • Ability to learn Aftermarket and OEM diagnostic scan tools and factory software
    • Knowledge and ability to use computers, mobile devices, and related technology efficiently
    • Travel may be required for continuing education and certification training
    • Self -motivated, positive attitude, with a customer focused vision

    Requirements:

    • Must be at least 21 years of age
    • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR check
    • Ability to pass a background check
    • Must be able to lift 60 pounds independently
    • Travel may be required for continuing education and certification training
    • Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping
    • Requires frequent driving of company and customer vehicles
    • Extensive travel within assigned area is expected
    • May have exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals
    • Ability to work in a shop environment in inclement weather
    • Required to wear PPE to include but not limited to facial covering, eye protection, gloves
