    Work for the BEST - We are looking for an experienced lead mechanic to work on large and small buses in our Lewisville Service Center.

    Hudson Bus Sales is a full-service bus dealership and service provider operating in the Texas and Florida areas.

    Job summary

    The mechanic will maintain and repair all moving parts of a vehicle to ensure functionality and reliability of engines and mechanical systems for both small and large buses.

    Qualifications

    Minimum 2 years mechanic experience. Proven ability as a car and truck mechanic with experience in troubleshooting:

    Transmissions

    Fuel Systems

    Brake Systems

    Electrical Systems

    Front End

    Exhaust

    Suspension

    Good physical strength and stamina.

    Must have exceptional customer service skills.

    Must be detail oriented.

    Must have excellent communication skills.

    Must be an active listener and exercise sound judgment.

    Good critical thinking and problem solving skills are essential.

    Must be a good time manager and multi-tasker.

    The ability to follow complex instructions.

    Must have the ability to effectively manage material resources and keep track of an inventory of supplies.

    Should have ample knowledge of safety precautions.

    Essential job functions

    Build and assemble mechanical components according to requirements.

    Inspect engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.

    Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.

    Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.

    Perform thorough maintenance on equipment and systems.

    Clean and apply lubricants to engine components.

    Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.

    Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to vehicle users.

    Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.).

    Keep logs of work and report on issues.

    Maintain inventory levels of parts and supplies needed.

    Physical Abilities

    Manual dexterity sufficient to grasp power and hand tools.

    Ability to lift 10 pounds on a frequent basis and 50 pounds occasionally.

    Mobility requirements include frequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, crawling and climbing.

    Use of ladders to no higher than 4 feet.

    Able to stand for long periods of time.

    Able to fit into tight spots, such as under a vehicle or in a far corner of an engine.

    Work Environment

    Time is spent inside and outside of vehicles.

    Able to be exposed to various fluids such as oil, brake fluid, cleaning fluid, transmission fluid and other fluids and oils associated with engines and cars.

    Time is spent working outside in both very hot and very cold weather.

    Must be willing to wear gloves and eye and ear protection.

    Education and Experience

    High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

    Automotive certification preferred.
