    Description
    Overview AFRL plans and executes USAF programs in the areas of basic research, exploratory development, and advanced development. Delaware Nation Industries is currently providing organizational support to the AFRL at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH.

    This support includes tasks to ensure an effective Information Management concept and structure that fosters timely deployment and optimal operation of Information Systems to support the research of the AFRL mission.

    Responsibilities * With minimal technical guidance, installs and repairs data communications lines and equipment.

    • Must be able to monitor network infrastructure and recognize service faults that may cause network outages.
    • Must initiate activity to negate these problems before network outage occurs.
    • Reviews work orders to move, change, install, repair, or remove data communications equipment, such as modems, cables, network cards, and wires.
    • Reads technical manuals to learn correct settings for equipment.
    • Measures, cuts, and installs wires and cables. Splices wires or cables, using hand-tools or soldering iron.
    • Connects microcomputer or terminals to data communication lines.
    • Develops test plans and tests communication lines to ensure that data is being transmitted between locations according to specifications using testing instruments such as voltmeter and data scope.
    • Uses diagnostic techniques to locate problem, and repairs wiring, cables. When equipment repair is required, coordinates with maintenance organization or company.
    • Monitors repair activity to ensure repair or replacement is done in a timely manner.
    • May plan layout and installation of data communications equipment.
    • May negotiate and place orders with common carriers.
    • May function as a technical lead for more junior specialists. Qualifications
    • Active CompTIA Security+ (or 8570 equivalent)
    • Minimum of 4 years of direct experience
    • Preferred: Minimum active Secret clearance
