Job summary
The City of Elk Grove is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Works Inspector I or II to support the Construction Management Section within the Engineering Services Division of the Public Works Department.This position plays a vital role in ensuring construction activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with approved plans., specifications,, local state ,and federal regulations.The ideal candidate will be a skilled construction inspector with a strong technical background hands-on experience inspecting wide range public works infrastructure projects.These may include temporary traffic control trenching underground utility installation boring roadway street construction storm drain systems bridges trails hot mix asphalt paving public facilities traffic signals lighting pavement markings signage planting irrigation systems,this position requires high attention to detail sound judgment ability independently perform daily field inspections The successful candidate will maintain accurate thorough inspection records including photographs measurements quantities daily reports identify nonconforming work issue correction notices recommend stop-work actions necessary The inspector will prepare quantity documentation support monthly progress payments assist contract compliance project closeout activities We are looking professional who communicate clearly effectively build positive productive working relationships contractors consultants property owners staff The ideal candidate demonstrate professionalism field apply construction standards consistently balance enforcement responsibilities collaborative solution-oriented approachJob description
