- Conduct physical examinations of infants and children determining need for X-ray examinations and/or clinical laboratory tests. Interpret examination findings and test results.
- Prescribe and administer appropriate treatment for the patient's needs and conditions, provide consultation, perform emergency treatment in cases of serious injury or illness, and recommend arrangements for hospitalization and surgery.
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
- Develop performance plans and evaluate work performance of subordinate employees. Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases.
- Interview candidates for subordinate positions and recommend hiring, promotion, or reassignments actions.
- Answer telephonic and other remote media inquiries from patients and provide appropriate advice and instructions. May perform telephonic after-hours call shared with other providers.
- Complete medical record documentation with accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness.
- Participate in clinic and clinical staff meetings, Continuing Medical Education (CME) conferences and Primary Care Clinic Quality Improvement through periodic chart and procedure audits.
