    Essential Functions

    • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care based on established clinical protocols and physician/provider orders.
    • Conduct thorough patient assessments, documenting findings accurately and reporting changes to the care team.
    • Administer prescribed medications, monitoring for side effects and documenting administration according to standards of practice.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
    • Respond to medical emergencies, participating in life-saving interventions such as CPR and code team activities.
    • Advocate for patient rights and needs, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in care planning and delivery.
    • Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
    • Implement and adhere to infection control protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
    • Promote patient safety by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
    • Participate in audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks to ensure adherence to standards of practice and regulatory requirements.

    Clinical Specialization: Cardiovascular RN

    • Pre-Procedure:

      • Review medical history, assess patient overall health, and prepare them for the procedure.
      • Initiate and maintain intravenous lines for medication administration.
      • Administer medications as prescribed by the physician.
      • Educate patients and families about the procedure and what to expect.
      • Verify surgical consents have been signed.

    • Post-Procedure:

      • Continuously monitor patient vital signs and overall condition after the procedure.
      • Administer post-procedure medications as needed.

    Qualifications

    • 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices.
    • Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
    • Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required.
    • BCLS - Basic Life Support required.
    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
    • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.
    • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred.
