    Description


    ROLE OVERVIEW:

    As a Part Time Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in all areas within and around the main building. In addition to routine cleaning tasks, you may also handle minor maintenance repairs, supply management, and setting up for meetings. Your role plays a crucial part in upholding the mission, goals, and policies set by the administrative staff and board members of the organization.

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    AVAILABILITY Monday to Sunday

    SCHEDULE Flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, and evenings

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Showcase excellent relationship-building skills with participants, parents, and colleagues
    • Ensure clear communication within your department
    • Maintain a safe and attractive environment by completing assigned tasks diligently
    • Perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties using both motorized and manual equipment
    • Assist in necessary maintenance tasks and report any repairs promptly
    • Keep the facility secure during your shift and report any incidents or hazards
    • Stock and replenish supplies as needed
    • Support event set-ups and ensure facility readiness at all times
    • Collaborate with community organizations and maintain positive relationships
    • Adhere to COVID-related protocols and guidelines
    • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Preferred: Previous relevant experience of at least six months
    • Minimum age requirement: 16 years old
    • Ability to understand and follow instructions and procedures
    • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment
    • Basic understanding of equipment maintenance
    • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and their safe use
    • Effective communication skills with diverse groups
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
    • Certification in Basic Life Support/First Aid and Emergency Oxygen within 30 days of hire
    • Multi-lingual abilities are a plus
    WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This role involves various physical demands to perform essential functions efficiently. Special accommodations can be arranged for individuals with disabilities to fulfill these requirements.
    • Use an online system for clocking in and out of shifts promptly
    • Clear vision and hearing or suitable accommodations for task completion
    • Effective verbal communication skills
    • Physical tasks include walking, standing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
    • Moderate noise level in the work environment
    • Adherence to all COVID-related protocols, PPE usage, and prevention efforts
