    We have a staff of 100+ mainly engineers and scientists who develop cutting edge chemical processes, materials, and hardware for customers in the defense, aerospace, energy and chemical industries.

    TDA's objective is to carry out research that leads to commercial products, several products that are the result of our research have gone into production or large-scale use, and others are nearing commercialization.

    TDA is looking for a Senior Process Engineer with industrial experience and a strong passion for new technology/process development. Our fast-paced work environment offers a myriad of opportunities for a self-motivated, multi-faceted process engineer.

    The Senior Process Engineer will work with project leaders and research engineers design and optimize new process concepts, commercial demonstration units, and full-scale systems.


    Roles and Responsibilities:
    Develop and evaluate process designs of real and conceptual processes for various applications including CO2 capture and gas separations and purificationPerform engineering calculations with minimal supervision and review the calculations and engineering documents of othersCreate, review, and markup and update existing engineering documents such as PFD's, P&ID's, and drawings as requestedParticipate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and system FAT during the process developmentProvide in-office and on-site engineering support for start-up, field demonstrations, performance testing, and routine maintenance activitiesCollect and analyze process and operating data from field test unitsConvey complex information clearly and conciselyPerform other duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong grasp of fundamental thermodynamic, heat transfer, and mass transfer principles including separationsExperience executing Front End Engineering Design (FEED and pre
    • FEED) packagesProficient in building and optimizing complex process models including implementation of features such as control loops and recycle loops using simulation tools such as Symmetry, Aspen Plus, Pro II, or other process simulation softwareAbility to prepare heat and material balances, PFD's and P&ID's from scratch for new process conceptsProficient at equipment and pipe sizing, specifying process equipment such as blowers, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, vacuum systems, and gas solid and gas liquid contactorsAbility to execute full plant cost analysis and evaluate the technoeconomic viability of new and existing processes Effective communication with engineering and equipment vendorsStrong familiarity with industrial safety proceduresFoundational understanding of system controls and basic plant layout principlesExcellent organizational skills and ability to track documentsExcellent communication skills with efficient visualization techniquesAbility to work in a fast paced environment and be flexible to manage and execute multiple projects in parallelPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Regular, frequent use of process simulation tools (e.

    Experience with gas purification processes especially TSA, VSA, and PSA systemsExperience with pilot plant design, construction, run planning, and operationExperience with scaling-up engineering and pilot-scale processes to demonstration and commercial-scale designsExperience facilitating and managing third-party engineering sub-contractsParticipation in safety and operational hazard analysis and familiarity with best practicesExperience designing carbon capture processes is a plus AutoCAD P&ID development is a plusStrong technical writing skillsRequired Education and Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited universityMinimum 10+ years of industrial process design experience

    The annual salary range is $115,000-$165,000, plus the complete benefits package.
