Within defined guidelines and framework protects USAA and our members from potential fraudulent claims by investigating questionable suspect claims activity in compliance with state insurance fraud-related laws and regulations policies procedures This role is remote eligible However you need to live in the Northern New Jersey area Newark Passaic Hoboken surrounding areas ideal There is business travel What You Do Applies knowledge understanding of fraud schemes investigation strategies on any questionable suspect first third part claims Participates development of fraud prevention strategies Applies knowledge P C insurance industry products services processes investigating claims include P C insurance policy contracts coverages internal claims handling process procedures Collects evidence potential fraud through field remote interviews thorough searches investigative databases resources Internet public records forensic tools Makes recommendations within defined authority guidelines Prepares presents detailed comprehensive verbal written investigative reports summarizing results investigation recommended outcome Develops maintains external relationships industry law enforcement contacts involved fraud investigation detection prevention May serve resource team member specific matters demonstrated skill training Assists delivery fraud awareness training initiatives defined environment Handles CAT duty responsibilities business requires Ensures risks associated business activities effectively identified measured monitored controlled risk compliance policies procedures What You Have High School Diploma General Equivalency Diploma GED 2 years claims adjusting experience P C SIU Fraud Investigation experience OR 4 years prior investigative law enforcement military relevant fraud industry investigation experience Proven investigatory skills Experience obtaining statements various parties incidents witnesses suspects Ability gather broad range evidence draw conclusions based objective details related applicability fraud Demonstrated ability organize prioritize workload performing multiple tasks devising solutions problems Familiarity using computers software packages enter extract data analysis relevant data sources systems Knowledge city state local regulations legal concepts understanding contracts case law medical treatment terminology What Sets You Apart SIU experience conducting low complex P C fraud investigations combination Claims Law Enforcement Investigations Military Investigative experience Designations such as CFE CIFI SCLA ACLS FCLS LPCS AIC CPCU CLLSC or other US military experience through military service spouse domestic partner
