    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Assist in the cleanliness and orderliness of park grounds (lawns, shrubs, trees, landscaping, and vegetation).
    • Assist in maintaining all lawn/landscaped areas with park lines (mowing, edging, trimming, and weeding).
    • Cleans and removes litter from parks, parking lot, and other public areas.
    • Operates and/or drives a variety of light and heavy equipment as directed.
    • Provide other services and perform other tasks as requested or assigned by the Director of Parks & Recreation, Deputy Directors of Parks & Recreation, and/or Township Manager.

Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment. The employee must occasionally list and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Requirements:
    • Work no more than 30 hours/week
    • To be employed for no more than 6 months of the year
    Requirements
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
    • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
    • Previous experience in park maintenance setting
    NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
    The individual must posses the following skills and abilities or be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential function of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
    • Ability to operate equipment used to maintain fields and parks and the knowledge to troubleshoot general maintenance issues.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, and devise solutions to immediate problems without much time for consideration.
    • Must possess a general understanding of field maintenance and how they are maintained.
    • Valid PA Driver's License and the ability to travel.
    • Skills in operating a personal computer with a general understanding of word processing and spreadsheet preparation.
    • Understanding the English language.
    • Must obtain Act 153 Clearances, CPR, and First Aid Certifications within six weeks of employment.
