    This is a Full Time position working at Northwest Medical Center Houghton
    NEW benefits offered for STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT - up to $10,000 for Surgical Techs working full time


    Job Duties: The Surgical Tech in the Operating Room at Northwest Medical Center, assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed and assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater.


    Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

    Education Required:
    Completion of accredited Surgical Technician program


    • OR 2 years of on the job training


    • OR 7 years of experience working in the field


    • OR
    • Military training program with 2 years surgical tech experience"

    Experience Required for Surgical Tech: 2 years previous experience and Surgical Tech Certification

    Skills:
    Ability to read, communicate, and document effectively through oral, written, or electronic means. Excellent skills in customer relations. Ability to prioritize and respond promptly to a changing workload. Ability to respond to multiple situations and questions that require sound judgments and action for quality patient care.


    Licenses/Certifications:

    Required:
    BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

    Preferred:
    Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C)
