Responsible for aspects of front office management and operation as assigned.


Responsibilities

  • Complete and accurate patient registration pre-certification charge capture accurately coding diagnoses given by physicians
  • Liaison between patient and medical support staff Greets patients and visitors in a prompt courteous helpful manner Checks in patients verifies updates necessary insurance information in the patient accounting system Obtains signatures on all forms documents as required Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties Maintains appointment book follows office scheduling policies Provides front office phone support as needed outlined through cross training program Screens visitors responds to routine requests for information Responsible for gathering accurately coding posting outpatient charges Processes vouchers private payments includes updating registration screens based on information on checks Research address verification as needed Helps to process mail return statements outgoing statements Acquires billing information for all doctors for all patients seen in practice Performs cashiering functions including monitoring balancing cash drawer daily Prepares daily cash deposits Receives payments from patients issues receipts Codes posts payments maintains required records reports files Works with patients securing prepayment sources financial agreements prior to providing service Participates with other staff achieve account resolution Assists outpatient coding error resolution Processes edits Customer Service Collection Request within specified time frames Identifies trends communicates problems management Updates patient account database Maintains updates current information physician schedules Schedules surgeries ancillary services follow-up outpatient appointments admissions requested Answers questions regarding patient appointments testing Assembles patients charts next day visit Updates profiles all patients ensuring completeness accuracy Oversees waiting area coordinates patient movement reports problems irregularities
