- Manage, maintain and reorder packaging categories such as Cartons, Labels, Glass as assigned by Director of Purchasing
- Create purchase orders in conjunction with Maintenance & Purchasing dept for equipment and parts as needed
- Track outstanding purchase orders, re-date, and follow up as needed.
- Ensure consistent supply for production while balancing appropriate inventory levels
- Lead sourcing efforts on assigned categories
- Process and code PCard receipts for Maintenance to Accounts Payable
- PaperSave invoice coding (Freight/Duty)
- Track invoices, validate and approve for payment
- Enter and maintain accurate record keeping into Facility Management software (ManagerPlus)
- Manage company-wide purchases of supplies and equipment (PPE, company branded apparel, uniforms etc.)
- Lead the sourcing of these categories and negotiate price, MOQ, and quality
- Negotiate favorable terms for equipment purchases
- Coordinate with all department heads
- 5 years' experience working in procurement field in manufacturing. Food related a plus / preferred
- Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel spreadsheets, Pivots and Outlook necessary
- Experience working in Microsoft Great Plains software preferred
- Excellent communication skills both written & verbal with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with suppliers
- Ability to utilize information to draw insights and conclusions and make tactical business decisions is essential
- Flexibility with work assignments and hours

Job DescriptionRust Belt Resources has partnered with a North American manufacturer seeking an Experienced Buyer on the Purchasing team. The ideal person will have 5 or more years of procurement experience within a manufacturing facility as well as strong Excel and analytical skills.
This role would be part of a trusted team and report to the Director of Purchasing and is responsible for purchasing, negotiating, and ensuring supply for production for day-to-day materials, packaging supplies, as well as parts and equipment.
Purchasing for Manufacturing:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business preferred
Salary - 55,000 + (depending on experience)
