    Work Shift:

    Day (United States of America)Under the general supervision of the Administrative Director, Director of Site Operations or assigned manager/Site Manager in Collaboration with the Associate Chief of Ambulatory Nursing Practice, provides direct and indirect care to a specified group of patients in a variety of healthcare settings.

    Medical Assistants work in collaboration with the physician(s), or other health care provider(s), other ambulatory support staff within the department, and with other disciplines, to deliver patient care.

    Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is now offering up to a $1,500 in signing bonuses for our Medical Assistant positions.


    Signing Bonuses are paid out in three payments. All payments are subject to applicable taxes.
    Signing Bonus is determined on a full-time status of 40 hours . Per Diem roles are not eligible.


    • If you leave Lahey Hospital & Medical Center before your first anniversary you will pay back the signing bonus.
    • Please note, signing bonuses are subject to change based on the organizations hiring needs and will be determined by Talent Acquisition on an ongoing basis. BILH/LHMC Talent Acquisition reserves the right to change signing bonus eligible jobs and amounts at any time.

    Accountable for providing safe patient care by demonstrating organizational skills that maintain and coordinate safe delivery of quality care for assigned patients/families.

    Contributes information provided by the patient or family for the assessment of health status
    Utilizing and transporting equipment
    Collaborates, cooperates, and communicates with other health care personnel to ensure quality and continuity of care.

    Supports Lahey Hospital and Medical Center's commitment to community based activities both within the Lahey community and beyond.

    Clinical Guidance:

    The MA, within the scope of his/her practice, is responsible for the nature and quality of care they provide for patients.

    Demonstrates appropriate behavior by adhering to unit policies and procedures and practice guidelines specific to the setting.
    Demonstrates ability to fulfill role in Regulatory compliance and readiness.

    Clinical Study:

    The Medical Assistant in Ambulatory Care achieves clinical study through experiences with patients, through collaboration with colleagues and leadership and through formal and informal education.

    Upholds standards of quality care.
    Maintains strict adherence to the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center Confidentiality policy.


    • Incorporates Lahey Hospital and Medical Center Guiding Principles, Mission Statement, and Goals into daily activities.
    • Complies with all Lahey Hospital and Medical Center Policies.
    • Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Hospital and Medical Center.
    • Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.
    • Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
    • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.

    Licensure, Certification, Registration:

    Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required to communicate with patients, family members, physicians and other health care providers, as well as other colleagues.

    Knowledge of medical terminology.

    Must possess basic computer skills to input and retrieve clinical information, as well as patient registration and appointment information.

    Utilizes critical thinking and good judgement in performance of tasks.
    Previous medical assistant experience would be preferred however not required.
    The expectation of the medical assistant will be to obtain vital signs, room patients and perform phlebotomy services.
