    The West Chester Area School District has the following Technology position available at the

    Spellman Education Center:
    Application Service Specialist- Spellman Education CenterSummary:The Application Service Specialist ensures consistency, integrity, and completeness of district information resources and provides support in the collection and reporting of database information

    Qualifications:
    To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.
    Associate Degree in Information Technology or related field of study or equivalent knowledge.

    Knowledge of database management and retrieval, and ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data.

    Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills are required. Must possess valid driver's license.
    Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and take direction. Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience with relational database management systems. Minimum of two years' experience maintaining database systems; experience in public education preferred.

    Ability to follow through to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, ability to schedule time to meet deadlines, ability to work independently, and ability to make work-related decisions.

    Experience with SQL Server, Microsoft Office Suite, and WCASD Administrative software preferred.
    Experience with web application development preferred.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Develop/implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and qualityEnsure data integrity and security for all administrative systems.

    Perform maintenance tasks for all in-house administrative systems, including applying software patches, upgrades, and data rollovers.

    Develop custom queries, reports, and forms as needed for optimum use of the databases or as requested to support administrative or educational objectives and satisfy state/federal reporting requirements.

    Manage day-to-day operation of the administrative systems including identification and resolution of software performance issues.
    Work directly with outside software vendors to import/export data. Document established procedures for data exchange.
