    Warehouse Lead (Mon - Thurs 2PM - End of Shift)

    Warehouse Team Lead (Night)

    Blue Ridge Beverage Company, Inc., located in Central and Southwest VA, is a large beverage distribution company seeking a full-time WAREHOUSE TEAM LEAD (NIGHT). The individual in this position will be responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager with oversight of daily operations ensuring receiving, warehousing and distribution operations objectives are met. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager (Night).

    Duties

    • Locate products using technology, accurately pick orders per 'pick ticket,' verify product count and utilize mechanical equipment to move product throughout the facility.
    • Assist with training and supervising warehouse employees to ensure they are performing assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Manage work hours to ensure adequate coverage while controlling overtime in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.
    • Escalate employee or safety concerns or issues to the Warehouse Manager or Operations Manager as needed.
    • Routinely communicate and coordinate with Warehouse Manager to recommend and implement ideals for improvement to optimize efficiencies.
    • Direct workflow during shift, including assisting with picking and loading as needed, following established processes and procedures.
    • Assist with managing team picking accuracy according to warehouse processes, including verification of load completion and count. Ensure pallets are loaded onto correct trucks in an accurate and safe manner.
    • Assist with maintaining the physical condition of the warehouse. Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed and documented when appropriate.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 2 years of relevant experience in operations, warehousing, logistics or distribution.
    • 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
    • Previous experience operating yard truck/trailers in a high-volume distribution environment strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency with warehouse management software.
    • Intermediate math skills, good verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Office 365.
    • Demonstrated experience and proficiency operating a forklift and walkie rider.
    • Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.

    Physical Requirements

    The following list of physical requirements are required to perform the entire job: standing; walking; sitting; stooping; fine finger and hand manipulation; speaking clearly; hearing to be able to maintain conversation; seeing to be able to read and to drive a vehicle; and lifting, moving, and carrying 25-40 lbs. repetitively, and occasionally up to 170 lbs. when handling kegs. Must be able to bend, lift, carry, climb, stoop and stack product using a hand truck or electric pallet jack.
