    LOCATION: Kenowa Hills Public Schools Transportation Department
    START DATE/CALENDAR: School Year, 45 week position, 4 hours per Day (5:30 am - 9:30 am)
    SALARY/BENEFITS: Per KHSSA Master Agreement The Transportation Department serves as an integral part of our school operations. We are looking for a dedicated service oriented professional to assist our department with managing the districts transportation operation. Covering a district boundary of 47.2 square miles each day and driving approximately 330,000 miles each year Kenowa Hills Public Schools transports a large portion of its' student body. Communication with parents, school building staff and bus drivers is a key expectation of this position.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations related to pupil transportation (Training provided).
    • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
    • Must possess or obtain a Class B or higher CDL with PS endorsements.
    • Must get a DOT physical
    • Must have an acceptable driving record.
    • Must be willing to drive when needed to fill in.
    • Skills that exemplify a high degree of computer proficiency
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exemplify discretion with student records.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
    • Ability to deal with problems in various situations.
    • Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers, parents, and students.
    • Ability to read and understand maps.
    • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education Policies.
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Ability to multi task and handle multiple incoming calls
    • Assist with the planning and development of bus routes throughout the school year
    • Provide ongoing communication to parents and drivers related to transportation
    • Coordinate transportation department to ensure all routes and assignments are covered on a daily basis as well as field trips and after hours transportation needs.
    • Maintain good public relations with parents / guardians, students and school personnel
    • Complies with the rules and regulations of the Kenowa Hills Pubic Schools Board Policies
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending conferences and training programs
    • Participates in on-site training
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
