    Summary

    The Freight Coordinator position's primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, "to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests." The Freight Coordinator performs a variety of operational tasks assigned by store management, including receiving and unpacking daily shipments, shipping merchandise, backroom maintenance, and routine cleaning of facilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Compare and verify merchandise invoices to items received to ensure correct shipments.
    • Send alterations, layaways, or special orders to guests via FedEx.
    • Check accuracy of freight packing slips and transfer slips.
    • Double-check that all transfers have been processed through the register and match shipped items.
    • Fold items and place in appropriate-sized boxes for proper presentation when unpacked.

    Visual Merchandise Management

    • Remove pins and plastic from shipped merchandise.
    • Place Sensormatic tags on garments in designated areas.
    • Hang and fold merchandise for the sales floor, steaming as needed.
    • Assist with projects on the floor as necessary.

    Operations

    • Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, based on store needs.
    • Develop knowledge of Point of Sale software.
    • Receive freight boxes and store transfers through the register.
    • Send discrepancies in store mail and file non-errors for 30 days.
    • Maintain shipment-related paperwork.
    • Recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
    • Create FedEx labels for packages and sort by transit time.
    • Send recalls and Return to Vendors (RTVs) weekly.
    • Keep supplies organized and restocked.
    • Organize fixtures and shelving.
    • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
    • Communicate policy violations to Store Manager, District Manager, and/or Human Resources.
    • Provide feedback on merchandise handling concerns.
    • Understand and apply the Buckle's Code of Ethics and policies.
    • Fulfill the mission statement by performing duties with high customer service and contributing to a positive team spirit.
    • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience

    No prior experience or training is required.

    Additional Requirements

    Due to the nature of the job, Teammates must be at least 18 years old.

    While performing duties, Teammates regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, jump, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear. They occasionally sit. Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom is required.

    Team members regularly work in a retail store setting. The noise level is usually moderate.
