    Description


    Retail Pharmacy Technician

    Full Time - 72 hours per pay period

    M-F 9:00 am-5:30 pm

    Rotating Saturdays-9:00 am-12:30 pm

    Duties:
    • Prepares prescriptions and related supplies for final verification by the pharmacist.
    • Inputs medication orders into the computer for final verification by the pharmacist.
    • Process charges and receipts on account in a timely manner.
    • Answers the telephone promptly and courteously.
    • Files prescriptions, stocks bottles and vials and performs other duties as necessary.
    • Works with pharmacists to maintain appropriate levels of inventory, ordering from contracts whenever possible.
    • Works with physicians to validate and verify prescriptions for any potential errors
    • Checks for out dated medications and supplies
    Requirements
    • Pharmacy Certified technician or technician in training must register with Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of accepting employment.
    • If a technician in training, the employee must achieve accreditation by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and become a Certified Technician within 12 months of starting technician employment.
    • Have acceptable accuracy in performing tasks of verbal and written communication, keyboard operation and computer skills, as well as interpretation and use of numerical and graphic materials.
    • Show tact and diplomacy.
    • Be able to perform accurate work and be dependable.
    • Successfully complete a math skills competency exam.
