Position: Multilingual (EL) Teacher

Fox River Grove School District is seeking a dedicated Multilingual Teacher to support English Learners in our elementary building. Spanish fluency is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide English language development instruction aligned to WIDA and Illinois Learning Standards
• Provide bilingual instruction in English and Spanish as needed to support student achievement
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement current best practices and research-based strategies for supporting multilingual learners
• Assist with differentiated instruction aligned to district curriculum, Illinois law, and Board policy
• Monitor and track EL student progress and maintain accurate student records in compliance with state requirements
• Administer required language proficiency assessments
• Communicate effectively with families, including Spanish-speaking parents
• Create and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• ESL and/or Bilingual Endorsement
• Knowledge of state and federal requirements for English Learner programs
• Spanish fluency preferred

Education

• Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Masters Degree in related area preferred.

Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment

Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

FLSA Status:       Exempt

Salary and Benefits:
 

• Staring Salary: $50,000 Creditable Earnings
• 14 sick days, 3 of which can be used as personal days
