DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION Perform venous phlebology ultrasound examinations. Requires initiative to obtain required radiographs to facilitate diagnosis. Proper care of the patient in accordance with the departmental and hospital policies and procedures is required. May be assigned independent responsibilities by the Medical Director of the Vein Center or the Practice Manager. Must be able to work independently to obtain images. Must have working knowledge of PACs and hospital information systems.# POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

Experience:
Minimum of three years of experience phlebology sonographer preferred


Education and Training:
Must have completed approved Phlebology Sonography Program. Additional registration and state license as a diagnostic technologist preferred.


License, Certification # Registration:
RPhS - Registered Phlebology Supervisor through CCI


CPR Other Requirements:
Must be proficient in venous studies and obtaining images using portable equipment. Must be familiar with sterile technique and set up of sterile trays. Ability to function independently and proficiently. Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment and supplies on a regular basis. Ability to function in a high stress, work intensive environment.
