    Job Description

    Overview:
    - Coordinate, supervise, and take part in building inspections to ensure services are delivered effectively following program regulations and County policies.

    Management Responsibilities:
    - Supervise a team of around eight (8) Building Inspectors.

    Detailed Description:
    - Oversee Building Inspectors by analyzing, assigning, and tracking workflow in collaboration with departmental personnel, agencies, property owners, and contractors to ensure efficient service delivery.
    - Address complaints about code violations and zoning ordinances, diagnose issues, and resolve conflicts.
    - Conduct on-site visits to inspections in progress, provide training on effective inspection methods, and carry out final inspections to uphold quality standards.
    - Review staff documentation for accuracy and completeness, keep records, and ensure precise tracking of inspection activities.
    - Assess staff performance to gauge productivity, efficiency, and training needs.
    - Perform additional tasks as required.

    Job Requirements:
    - Education and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree in Industrial Arts, Business, Construction, or a related field.
    - Four (4) years of relevant work experience, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
    - Proficiency in standard software applications.
    - Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and the public.
    - Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal codes, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to electrical, plumbing, and gas installations in residential structures.
    - Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
    - Mandatory pre-employment drug screening, with potential for random, unannounced drug and alcohol testing throughout employment.
    - Willingness to travel to various work sites and ability to work in diverse conditions and weather.
    - Capable of extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, stretching, lifting, and climbing ladders.
