    The Laboratory Operations Intern that supports our SDC business has responsibility for initiating and completing testing related to the manufacture of production BIs to enhance current understanding of products and to support continuous improvement initiatives.


    Key Job Responsibilities:
    Model lean philosophy 5S behaviors in creating a continuously improving, clean, well-organized, and self-maintaining work environment. Work closely with team members and others to motivate and improve 5S knowledge and implementation

    Follow a continuous improvement approach for team accountability for achieving high performance SQDCM (safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, & morale) targets through a visual work environment.

    Comply with company ethics, code of conduct, policies, and best practices, with a commitment to safety in the workplace, valuing diversity, and promotion of a harassment-free environment.

    Comply with all safety and regulatory standards.

    Application of the Mesa Labs Quality Policy and actively monitor quality of outcomes in the performance of all assigned tasks.

    Conduct of laboratory activities demands constant vigilance regarding everyone's safety. Follow all safety procedures and err on the side of caution when performing all laboratory related tasks. Safety problems, equipment failures/problems, injuries and safety suggestions should be immediately reported to your manager.
    Operation of all test equipment for the testing of Mesa products.
    Ability to follow SOPs which includes maintenance of SOPs when necessary.
    Knowledge of aseptic technique.
    Exhibit excellent documentation practices.
    Ability to effectively write scientific papers.
    Ability to prioritize and manage workload.
    Support experimental design of protocols for continuous improvement initiatives.
    Ability to execute protocols and SOPs to generate data.
    Analyze data and communicate technical information to internal teams in the form of oral presentations, written correspondence, and reports.
    Perform other duties as assigned by management.


    Qualifications/Education:
    Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in biology, microbiology, or a related field.

    Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.


    Compensation/Benefits:
    Salary for this position is $20/hr.
